A Word From Shannon:

“You are your own best client.” I learned this in my yoga teacher journey, and fully trust in a therapeutic relationship to help build your strengths, explore your innate wisdom, and create fulfilling solutions together for greater freedom, joy, and understanding. Learning to trust your authentic self and your deepest desires for your life is a life-long journey—one that I embrace myself and love facilitating for others.

I can offer therapeutic tools to help explore issues in a safe, compassionate way including music/creative arts therapy, mindfulness/meditation, somatic yoga and breathing techniques (for all body types), dialectical behavior therapy, Brainspotting (a trauma therapy that combines EMDR and Somatic Experiencing), and cognitive behavior therapy. I also offer Guided Imagery and Music. This is a specialized, guided music listening experience, where I assist you with relaxation and exploration of the psyche. In my experience, this technique helps people to get to the ‘heart of the matter’ in a deeply authentic and powerful manner.  I do this through a client-centered, strengths-based approach- fully acknowledging that you are your own best expert. My role helps facilitate tuning into your best self and spiritual strengths you already possess.

My therapeutic background includes working with victims of trauma/abuse/PTSD, Veterans, elders, adolescents, couples, and people struggling with life stressors/transitions, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, spiritual issues/questions, chronic injuries/illnesse/pain management, performers or athletes with performance anxiety/blocks, and substance use. I have 16 years of integrated therapy experience, and have also served as an Army National Guard Behavior Health Officer for 17 years and deeply understand military culture. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of healing, therapeutic change, and growth to our highest potential. I am honored to be a part of your healing journey, and look forward to discovery with you.

In my spare time, I enjoy agate hunting, hikes with my family and German Wirehair pup, spending time with friends/family, cooking, gardening, traveling, playing music, enjoying church and other spiritual communities, reading, writing poetry, Lake Superior time, and learning new things! I bring my love of nature, music, exercise, quality friendships, military, yoga, and the creative arts into my practice with excitement, and look forward to building your passions and love for life as well.

Blessings,

Shannon

In the words of Masaru Emoto:

"If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now, and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong."
